Mothers Day

These pictures don't do this justice but Monday after my doctors appointment Cody, my mom and I went to the Rain Forest Cafe. There are rainstorms, animals doing shows and fun menus. We went here as my moms mothers day. She was gone on the actual mothers day.
I love you mom!

Memorial Day Weekend Fun

On Saturday morning Hannah and Andy went fishing. When they got back we took Andy to donate blood and happened upon a farmers market. I had him drop the kids and me off and we got balloon animals and made rockets we could launch. Plus the music and foods all around us. Also we bumped into friends of ours so that was fun. Afterwards we visited our grandma who now has to be in a nursing home. We brought her pictures the kids made and found out what she needed. As if that wasn't enough, we went to a customer party at the Old Cannery furniture store. There were free hot dogs, soda, old time pictures, and clowns. Hannah got her face painted and Bethany got another balloon animal. We got out of the sun just in time to have nice little tans (not burns). Andy did yard work most of the day but I'm sure he enjoyed the sun! Sunday was church and a BBQ.

Happy Birthday Andy!

Happy Birthday Andy! This was Andy's Birthday at Jenks Park. His family came and he had to share his special party with his little Hannah. That's what you get for having your birthdays so close. HE even had to cook the wienies! Happy Birthday Andy!

Happy Birthday Hannah!

This is Hannah's 6th birthday! She had 4 family kids, and 5 school friends come and shower her with gifts. Man she got spoiled! I think she got everything she wanted. (no joke) Some of her favorite things were a barbie swimming pool, a Star Wars action figure set, a big art set and a rock tumbler. See! She is spoiled. It was definitely her day to shine. She was really well behaved with no melt downs. We played at Jenks Park and had a BBQ and pinata.

Happy Birthday Hannah!

I've Decided...

OK so I was thinking about things today and I've decided there are 2 kinds of people; the kind that feel left out or like they don't fit in, and the kind that have a click of friends and once they step outside that circle realize they just don't fit in with anyone else. I say this because I keep hearing about people who don't think they fit or are friends with many people of a group I belong to. Then there are some who I thought WERE THE GROUP to fit into and they too feel like they don't fit in with the group. I bet we are all the same as far as this goes. We all need to call each other when we are bored, lonely, or just want someone to hang out with. We all need to call to check on the others and show true concern and compassion for each other. We all need to smile and acknowledge each other even when we don't feel like smiling. We would just be happier this way. You know, "Fake it till you make it!" Fake it until you are happy. Not every circumstance of coarse but you get the idea. I have been pretty happy lately and I wish that those who are not could experience the joy that I do. Friends are wonderful. Sometimes you have to listen when you are busy doing other things. Sometimes you have to call when you just want to rest. Sometimes you have to do favors that you are too tired to do. Wouldn't a good friend do those things for you. Obviously take care of yourself first but we waste a lot of time just being lazy. I have been making weekly goals in the friendship department and have reaped many things to be grateful for. One day I just worked on smiling to those around me and showing sincere interest in their lives, also asking them how they are. Too many times people are faking the happiness and need to get something off their chest. You may be just the right friend to vent to. This was a wonderful day for me because I was able to talk with people I don't usually talk to and they now hopefully feel like they "fit in" with at least one more person in the group. Do your part and you are bound to "fit in" the group. Because after all we are in the same group so there must be something in common!

Count your blessings

Today we can count our blessings that we were not in China when the quakes hit. We can be grateful that we have our families still alive. I get so caught up in each disaster reported on the news. My heart hurts for all of the people affected by tragedy. If there were ways I could help everyone I would.
I am especially grateful that I still have my mommy to celebrate Mother's Day with! I had a wonderful mother's day myself. My daughters were so good to me. Hannah made me a hand print wreath with her picture in the middle and a poem on the back and she made me a card and then also gave me a package of seeds with a poem and a cardboard watering can to water my seeds(her and Beth) and watch them grow. Bethany made me a key chain with her picture on one side and fingerprint flowers on the other side, she also made me a card with her picture in it. Then them and Mr Harrington bought me a new stamp set. He also made me a fabulous breakfast of waffles. Then at church I got flowers, and my in laws also gave me flowers. So as you can see I was showered with gifts and I can truly count my blessings. Love to them all!

So I have been making cards lately. I think I will give them as Christmas presents. I will box them up as nice sets. They are fun to do and hopefully the girls in my family will like them. Not only is this an outlet for my creative side I get to visit with friends while making them (my mom included!) I have not been up to much else in the last week because I have had a bad cold. It is getting better but the cough is hanging on! I think I probably got sick because I ate this giant chocolate bar a few days before the sickness hit and it probably brought my immune system to a stand still. No more pigging out on that stuff for me!
